Dear Irmgard,
We are so sad to hear of Manfred's death and we hope that you are keeping strong, and being cared for by Baerbel and all your family. Manfred is in our prayers and we will remember him especially on our next visit to Our Lady's Grotto in Lourdes in June.
We first met in Yorkshire in 1984 and we have been friends since then, going on holidays together for many years. Memories are still very clear and we will miss you.

I was trying to contact you and Manfred after Christmas as we had not heard from you as we do normally. But I found out from the IPA on the 9th of February that he had just died. We had prayers said for him in our Church and I posted a letter and photos and a Memorial Card to you at Baerbel's address (Fasanenweg 16), but my letter was returned unopened to me today (11th May).
